Time Management Tips

Hey guys,
I am terrible with time management, so I have decided to do a few things about it.

Here are a few thoughts I had about my online marketing and time management.
  • Set Your Work Hours - And Stick To Them
  • Plan Your Time Wisely (Use A Diary or Day Planner)
  • Turn Off Your Instant Messenger

What do you guys do to make sure you are using your time effectively?

I found out that even the simple act of making a list is helpful (sort of a watered-down number 2). the danger of course, is that you become a list addict, but hey, its not such a big deal.

Stop Checking Email
Stop Reading your RSS Feeds
Stop doing anything before you finish the most important task for your day(maybe write some content for your site). This is the method that I always use.

Personally I also like to keep a to-do list. However I never follow it 100% but it does keep me clear with my daily tasks.

I do a to-do list to stay focus with my tasks everyday. I put a red check mark at each task when it's finished. The more check marks I see, the more accomplished I feel for the day. I use a calendar and I always have a yellow tablet for day to day notes.

I run a tight schedule during the day. My real estate business is on central and east coast time zones. I live in California which is 2-3 hours behind. My phone calls come as early as 6 am PST. My work hours are from 6 AM-3 PM. I do all my errands, phone calls, and meetings during this block.

After 3 PM my kids are home from school and they get my full attention. Dinner is being fixed around 4PM. Start over the next day.

Personal Discipline is key to running a successful personal and business life. Follow good work ethics, consistency, principles, as if you are running a real fortune 500 company.
