These Crap Ebook sites you talk of....

Hello,

I want to dicuss these crap ebook sites you talk of... I have read some threads that give good advice and also bad advice....

I also read a thread when a guy who sells ebooks told off a guy who sells cd's....

Just some things I want to note:

Sellling Ebooks is not a crap website...

The fact is a lot of people amke good money in good niches... Crap Ebook websites are onces that are rip offs off other products and really have no need....

However, these niche ebook websites like "vision" , "golf", etc... do very well for the plain fact of, the consumers of this niche don't see these sites everyday like we marketers do....

Moving on.... sometimes there is no need for a better looking website, or a real .com...

The plain fact, is I own a forum that is on a forumup.org domain name, and I plain to move it to a real domain name soon, but I started it on this forum name to see how fast it would grow and to see the potential market...

It is called testing... The testing worked... 224 members and an active forum, with dedicated members

and once I get back from Miami from a family crisis, I will be talking to these didicated members in working for me on my newest site startupprofits

So, I saw this member dissing a members site jsut because it wasn't a .com, and he claims to make $100,000's with his business...

He can still do this... it is possible.

When I first came on this forum, I had people yelling at me because I had a forumup.org name and I claimed to make $3,000 anytime I want...

The plain fact is, there is not need for the forum to have a .com until I deicded it should...

So this member doesn't need a .com until he decided to... yes it would be better in profits and representation, but hey, its his business.

So, really this ridiculous rant is about the general attitude of the forum...

THe fact is, we are all better then 95% of the people in thsi world, because we are lookign to change ourselves, make ourselves better. And the certain knocking down on threads is really not needed, but instead you should give critique and discuss why it won't work.

Like on that therd that i reamined to stay anonomous....

You could of said...

Well, see its going to be hard for people to see professionalism and income of $100,000 if you don't have your own establish website. I am not saying you don't make this, but just as a consumer look out, you can probably do better with a .com

I agree with you on several points. A forum is made up of its members and the content provided, not by the domain (although the domain can be useful, in terms of SEO, marketing, remembering the forum, professionalism, etc). The people who try to bring these people down are the ones that don't want to believe it and it could be for several reasons. Also, niche products are a great way to make money and sell a product that is limited in supply. If you target the right market and sell a worthy product then anything can happen.

in reality, purchasing a .com cost money, and selling ebooks (in my opinion atleast) is a short term money gainer. In other words, to sell ebooks, you do not need a domain name, and if anything its best not to have a domain name. Reasons are so that it can save you that money and the hassle of getting one, as well as prevent you from getting into trouble (for the peopel who uses illegal methods, ie email list with unknown originals).

Ultimately, the people who purchases the ebook are there because they somehow received an email regarding the matter and clicked through, they probably have no idea how that person emailed them, but that is besides the point.

After they get to the website, most of them don't look at the domain, and if they read through 20 pages of text on one page, they eventually get to the price at the bottom, and some will ultimately be conned into purchasing the ebook. so in reality, its best not to have a .com domain when you are selling ebooks using email lists (regardless of the original of that email list).

A real good idea would be to write a few good ebooks on your special talent or knowledge and build a site around that and then offer an affiliate program.

this type of ebook business/site seems to do very well and it is well niched and targeted.

to me, if someone doesn't have a .com or is using a free server then it says that they aren't serious about their business enough to spend a few dollars on it. And if they aren't serious about it why should anyone else care or be willing to buy whatever it is they are selling?
