Lightbulb The Real-Life Adventure of Five First-Time Student Entrepreneurs

Dear Advertisers/Pixel Ad webmaster/Entrepreneurs:

Insider of Pixollard.com - Launch Day of http://www.pixollard.com

So we finally did it. After three months of scrambling, planning, we finally did it. Three months ago, when I first brought the idea up, we didn’t know where we are heading down to. We didn’t have a solid goal of what we are trying to achieve. But three months later, we have learnt everything from scratch. We came up with our first business proposal, first marketing proposal, and our first business plan. We have learnt pretty much everything you will have to learn for a start-up company, from PR, Marketing, writing business memo, logging for meetings, web designing to finance. We juggled back and forth between school and work.

We witnessed this crazy and mindlessness idea from the milliondollarhomepage and we foresee an opportunity for us and for this growing market. We are to serve you, each one of you individuals/team/companies with the goal of achieving publicity for your personal/company websites. We believe this pixel-advertisement phenomenon will grow and become mature in internet world and we are here to ask you to join us and be part of this growing business. Remember, http://www.pixollard.com is here with our clients and serve you with our full commitment and passion!

From now on, we also will be sharing our true life adventures of our student entrepreneurship experience under “The Pixollard Chronicles”. My four other partners and I come together is our shared interest in helping other aspiring or first-time entrepreneurs. Since we began this venture, we have learned so much about bringing an idea to reality and to market, about running a business on next-to-no budget, and about keeping an even keel through it all.

We like nothing better than sharing this experience with you, please consider this opportunity and subscribe to our newsletter and refer us to friends whom you might think be interested to our website!

Again, allow me to stress my vision in this pixel ad market. We are hoping with the early revenue stream will allow us to have funds of developing this into a more interactive version. Right now, we provide the functions of writing featuring articles for our clients and promote these on our 9 different satellite websites and send them through our press release and e-newsletter!. We provid service and hope to turn this into a data base for web browsers to constantly coming back here for resources. Here at http://www.pixollard.com we are visioning to turn this into a graphic giant resources center!

Let me get this straight - it took you guys THREE MONTHS (!) to come up with an idea that has existed for WAY too long?! You must not have been doing very much during that three months, because I can go to Google and type in "Pixel Ad" and get a return of 9.5 MILLION pages.

All I have to say is WOW, real original.

Oh, and nice spamjob.

EDIT: I just seen that you are graduates from Stanford... That makes this about 10 times worse, because you probably have REAL potential ... You're just applying it in all the wrong ways.

Clarification and Updates!

hey~

Thanx for your comment! Yah, it did take us three months but remember we were also in school at Stanford during this three months span. We had to juggle between school and meetings. We planned this in a details. this idea wasnt original and we never said it was our idea. But we saw a potential in this market. We are trying to develop this into a platform that connects web browsers and advertisers. Our long-term goal is to create an interactive platform for the web-browsers and advertisers. People in the future can come to the website and uses it as a informational center where people can see the rating, review articles and retrieve information of the clients whom advertised on pixollard.com.

We launched the website two days ago and they have already achieved a total of 103,645 hits on our website. We have already landed five advertisers for a total of 3200 pixels sold. Most of the clients reserved those blocks during our pre-launch cold callings and promotion.

We planned this in details. If you have checked out our website, can you find another pixel ad website that looks more professional than ours? and the stats showed that our work paid off!

But then again, thank you for your comment. We will definitely keep ourself in mind that we are from Stanford and we have the potential to turn this pixel ad into a new medium for internet advertisement!

Thank you!

Yours is one of hundreds, maybe thousands of copycats of MillionDollarPage, how do you expect to differntiate your site from any of the others. The only with with any real success is the original, and I dont see this changing. I am not trying to bash here, but I dont understand how it could have possibly taken you 3 months to get this up. You could have reasonably launched it within a day.

A day easily if they used a script like www.rentapatch.com ... but it looks like they may have done a bit of extra coding.

Otherwise, I agree that for 3 months of work you could have come up with something more original and worthwhile.

Although it's all about traffic. If you can get the traffic, advertisers will fork out their cash to get a piece of it. But then again you are competing with 1000s and 1000s of other exactly the same pixel advertising sites.

Good luck.

Site looks good but your zoom in only works on the bottom of the page and can't scroll up with the zoom in.

Did you build the site yourself?

Thumbs down

Look, I am trying to get this straight. You noticed an opportunity where the market is completely flooded?????

What exactly is the "opportunity?"

How is your site different from the rest, because from what I can tell, its just a copycat?

I congratulate you on all your new business knowledge and I think this will be a great learning experience for you, BUT I think you can chalk up an "F" for failure next to this idea. Time to move onto the next one!

Then again, you can continue to work hard on this idea with mediocre results. Personally, I would delegate someone from your team to take care of this pixel thing full time so the rest of your team can move on. A site like this shouldn't require more than one person to run and administer.

well~

jp morgan~

I must say, what we did differently for sure is we sort them into categories! and i dunt think any pixel sites online have done something like this. again, this is only our Beta version, we r trying to push this into another more interactive site like yelp.com

thanx for ur comment. but no, we r not going to hire someone for this yet. the whole point of entrepreneurship is to work on everything urself.. and that includes replying forum messages like this and calling clients.

respect
tony

But what's the point? It's STILL pixel ads. Just because you put it into seperate catagories doesn't mean very much... It would be like someone taking the pet rock and painting a sad face on it and stating "wow, we have something completely different!". Not really true.

In addition, what's the point of pixel advertising? The first guy that did it had success because it was a novelty... After the first 8 million copycats, the novelty has well worn off, and there just isn't any benefit to advertisers (which you claim up to an 8000% increase in traffic to an advertised site, yeesh).

I HIGHLY suggest that you take the advice of JPMorgan... You guys are from Stanford and have high potential - don't waste it on a pixel ad copy-cat site.

Tony,
I hope your site morphs into something different and better.

I think we disagree on the point of entrepreneurship. For me, I will delegate responsibility to folks more talented than I in their different fields; whether that be graphic design, web design, etc. Its the division of labour (read Adam Smith's "The Wealth Of Nations.")

To try and do everything yourself may be why it has taken you 3 months to produce something that should have been produced in less than a week. This is a prime example of why you need to delegate and not shoulder everything yourself. Your operation will be much more fluid and efficient. The quality will also be better.

Aside from that, I just found a pixel ad site that is a bit different from the rest. When you mouse over the link, you hear the podcast. Im sure someone else is doing it too, but its the first time Ive seen it.

Take care, good luck.
