Humble reply~

Hey guys:

I want to say thank you to you all for the replies. I have learnd a lot thru it all. I must say,we have definitely not make our idea more original in the beginning. but we are and we do plan on changing the website to something more interesting and interactive. After all, this is only our Beta version.

Since this is an entrepreneurship forum, I do want make a few clarifications. My buddies and I haev worked hard in school and for this website in this past three months. I must admit we did not focus too much on the novelty of the website but instead we focused a lot on how to market the website in a more professional way. As you can see from our website, we are probably one of the most professional-pixel website in the internet world. Instead balancing between niche and advertising, we focused too much on how to promote this website.

All of us came from knowing near to nothing about the internet world to learning so much from everyone and you guys! Thanks for all the replies. We are working on our second version of the website. we have a lot of ideas in mind and are working toward it. I guess we launched the website a bit too eary. but hey guys.. I promise, there will be a second version coming soon and when this time comes, I will definitely not disappoint you all.

~ Again, Thank you all.

-Tony

Good effort, now move on to something more original!

Guys, I applaud you for what you have executed, as execution is one of the primary keys to success. However, while I'd love to be proven wrong, I'm afraid you guys are headed down a path of failure and I caution you not to kill yourselves trying to make this work over the coming year. The original milliondollarhomepage was innovative, and thus got a ton of news coverage, which fueled it's success. You don't stand a chance of getting all the free advertising now, and will actually have to swim upstream to make it work.

Do something innovative in a growing segment, such as:
+Build mobile applications.
+Build a social network for a niche market.
+Build a web application like Craigslist for a niche market.

You guys did execute, however, and covered a lot of ground which is awesome! Take this as an experiment in being an entrepreneur, as surely many of our projects fail. Sometimes the wisdom is in knowing when to cancel a project, and go back to the drawing board.

Consider aligning yourselves with advisors earlier on as well, such as CocoonWorks.
