Like Deejay: I've also seen this done on a viper before too!
People throughout the UK sell adspace all over black taxis and they are masssive ads that can be seen as they cover the black taxi. You ads are fairly small so they can't really be seen from a distance. However, if someone wanted to put a large ad on your advan would you allow this to happen?

artdrops, i've seen this done unsuccessfully on Hummers, Vipers, Ferrari's and none have gotten anywhere. How are you different to any of them?
btw, are you still pursuing your 10,000 faces idea?

Hey N & Sashg, it would much easier if you just went through the site a little more or read this entire thread because your two questions have been answered already. Thanks for the feedback tho!

artdrops, I looked over this thread again and couldnt find out what made your business innovative or unique.
I'm not being negative or anything, I'm just curious what makes your business different. I cant find it

As far as the 10,000 portraits, that has been changed to House Of Portraits.. Everyface has A Story. I opted for a non gimmick site for this particular venture, a little more meat to the project so to speak.

Different as opposed to van versus exotic car? The site is actually to gather interest for the real venture which is advans.com. This site will be a place for advertisers to meet with ad space suppliers (vehicle owners) to have their ad placed for a specified amount of time for a monthly fee.
The first objective is to sign up the van owners (ad space suppliers), then the advertiser will have a choice of the areas, amount of vehicles they wish to advertise, the size of the ads and the length of time they wish to advertise, of course all for a specified amount. I will be the median for the vehicle owner and the advertiser.
Benefits: The vehicle owner makes extra money, the advertiser gains exposure in a niche way to market.
I really believe this idea will have a mainstream market effect if properly executed.

411 Visitors in 1 1/2 days. Not bad, now if they would convert into sales!

ya gotta get better at how you sell advertising
- map of where the car will drive (google maps mashup...takes a second to make using frappr or something)
- census/traffic survey data on how many people will be expected to see the map, and for how long (i.e. how long and average person sits in traffic)....data available from your various state agencies
- from there on, calculate the CPM and compare to other CPMs (like TV). you gotta highlight how your product compares to other products on price (CPM) and other features (e.g ROI)
- from there, calculate a value proposition "i.e. cheaper than TV, more effective".
you dig what i'm saying?
get better at sales
p.s. use your own van-ads to promote your business
from there, you can calculate the R.O.I and put together a case study
don't forget to prompt people to send you a generic SMS rather than make a phone call. people can't call in traffic, and you can't count on them to remember to visit the url

Maps - Census/ Traffic SD - CPM's - Value Proposition - SMS - R.O.I.
Some of it I Dig, the rest is???lol
For the most part, I have not promoted or even begun to sell the concept to potential advertisers but I do have a game plan.
