Yes, it's just normal advertising - for hacknmod.com - I've already submitted to about 15 directories but I'm looking to get more traffic obviously so I'm writing articles in hope to drive more traffic.

Yes, Mary Anne is right. Try submitting your articles to different directories. That way search engine can easily find your articles. Just make sure that they are SEO friendly sites.... .
