very cheap, $200 at http://me.com/_snapp/

You'll have a community which has better features than MySpace.

I would act quickly if your are gonig to make one as AOL according to Dave Winner are planning to launch the ''myspace killer'' in the next few week with ''Heat On'' - i read about it on www.digg.com - its a recent entry so it should still be there.

if i was gonig to set up a social network up i would probably use this. Think about it $200 is cheap, its offering more features then myspace and you could easily recoup your money back and more by selling advertising space on it, maybe adbrite or adsense or even full banners the choice would be yours.

Exclamation

Right up my alley

The social networking scene is pretty crowded, and it's only going to keep growing. For every great site / good idea there are 100 that are average (or worse).

Personally I think that the most successful sites, moving forwards, will be those that start off with a niche.
