Reselling Websites

I noticed there are a ton of places to buy websites from, cookie cutter, failed or idea gone bads, are everywhere.

Do you think someone could buy them dirt cheap, rework the content, redo some design (logo work, customizing) streamline whatever the product that is being sold, hit SEO hard, resell it and still make a profit?

There is definetly competition in the arena, but there is still room for it I believe.

Any thoughts?

I follow these closely. I have bought a couple sites, and am in the process of buying a bigger site right now.

Make sure they are generating revenue or you are getting a good deal.

Look at a lot of sites before you buy.

If you follow Robert Kyosaki (sp?) he recommends you look at 100 houses before you even consider buying so you can see a good deal when your getting one.

Also, be a tough negotiator, selling a site is harder than most people think!

I also follow them very closely and agree with Steve. I have been following them for months and that "deal" hasnt came up yet. Im also just following a few markets that i am interested in.
Theres been a few decent deals, but i passed due to the fact im in the middle of a huge project right now. But, if there was that lifetime deal i wouldnt have passed it up

this is something i was once interested in at least looking into, but i wasn't able to find any places where websites were for sale.

is there a main website which lists sites for sale, or is it a matter of contacting websmasters individually?
