Rate my new flash site

Hi All,

I have been busy creating a new flash siteover the last couple of days, it's not finished as I've only just completed the menu and background but I would like some input (hopefully constructive) before I proceed any further.

the background of the links is going to be changed to something more in keeping with the site.

bear in mind it's my first attempt at a full flash site.

Let me know what you think, all comments are welcome !

Ummm...well...its definately very unattractive and unprofessional. The fonts and colors are very basic and boring. Try to use a better color scheme, buttons, and layout.

I must be honest. I think your effort is amazing. But before you dwell too further, I feel you should think twice about doing a flash site for a computer repair? I think doing CSS and a nice clean interface will be much more sufficient than flash. Also, don't be afraid to add small flash in, but to make an entire site in flash isn't a good idea in this case. Just my 2 cents. Goodluck to you :-D and keep striving

It's nice, the moving menu will probably catch the atention of visitors, but the title Central PC Repairs is kind of stiff and rigid, make it more smooth.

I agree with matic, its just doesn't really make sense to have a flash site for a computer repair company (assuming that is what the website is for). I mean for designers and architects and stuff, that would be great, but for other general websites, its best to not use flash at all.

You may want to try using ajax if you are into all the flashy stuff, as it does the job although I'm pretty sure you can't move the menu around like that

Thank you all for your comments, I had been toying with the idea of having a full flashsite for my small business but with the ammount of content I will have to add in the near future it will be too time consuming to create the full site in flash, I think I just fell in love with flash and it's capabilities.

I have been working on a intro page using flash and will try to use flash in small doses for the rest of the site,

thanks again all who posted, much appreciated.

Flash is a great idea, but keep in mind your marketing strategy. Flash at the present time is not too search engine friendly. The menu is a cool idea, definitely, just keep in mind the customer. Imagine an old lady on your website chasing the menu around - I don't think she would like that.

As far as the colors are concerned, pick a color any color, just make sure the layout is clean and well complimented with supporting colors and allows ease of reading.

Just so you have an idea of a black website that I've done. Visit the Dataracks Evo Concept for a rough idea of what I'm talking about. I'm not saying your idea is bad, it's good. Just keep in mind your customer. At the end of the day even if your website is good or bad - all that matters is the relationship you fostered with the client and how you made the client feel after the work was done. You don't have to be a seasoned web developer to run a computer repair company, of course it would help.
