Hey guys just a quick warning about a very legitimate looking paypal scam email.

They claim to be customer support saying that your account has been violated. They ask for details e.t.c and your Pin number.

Just a warning , i know paypal are aware of this and that you guys aren't stupid but it is really convincing with the logo and template of usual paypal emails.

Yes, very convincing indeed. There is now a way for these phishers to actually mask the whole URL (i.e. appear a certain way in the status bar when your pointer hovers over it), making it look like it points to http://www.paypal.com/webcr/login (or whatever their login link is, something like that). It is such a clever disguise, I actually fell for it once. Needless to say, as soon as I realized I had been duped, I logged into the real PayPal and changed my password.

haha yeah , ok now you've admitted falling for it i nearlly did too lol . filled out a majority of the form but when it asked for pin i was pretty quick to pick up on it. If anyone gets them by the way Paypal are asking you to report and forward the email.

Got one today and was transferring funds last night, slight moment of rumble pants!

I recieved the same email today. Always login paypal's site to check status. Why is paypal so notorious for being associated with fraud?

because they get 10% commision obviously :P. When ever i see an email like that i always sign in via typing website into the browser never by link, friend was conned 4K from his Halifax account, lucky he got it back tho.
