Our New Plan
While we all know that there truly is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme, many of us do realize that there are certain industries that require small investment, you have a large return...
That being said, I would like your opinion on my latest idea:
I'm considering allowing my current customers to resell my reseller plans at a 25% discount. We provide them with quality 2.4 GHZ Cpanel servers and they simply resell the service at whatever price they deem fit. We remain anonymous in the back ground.
Your thoughts?
Best Regards,
-Darrell
PS - Our prices are already below the industry standards for the quality that we provide. I think this has real potential.

You don't want to get into a price battle with RackShack, they will most likely win.
You can easily beat them in SUPPORT and CUSTOMER Service which is not great there. I would reccommend you make that a big part of the business model.

Rackshack does not offer reseller accounts, but dedicated servers. Our reseller plans already beat out most competition and our support is pretty darn good if I dont say so myself.

I say go for it.
We do the same with our reseller plans, and let our clients resell them at whatever price they choose. We have also included it as part of our affiliate program so that even our non customers may resell them if they wish.
Best wishes,
Karen

Sounds good. It's all about advertising/word of mouth to get started.

I've already had a current end user contact me. The nice thing about offering your clients the ability to sell your products, is that it really helps to alleviate marketing costs.

"Word of Mouth" is deffinately the kind of customer to get. They are tend to be more loyal and trusting at the same time.
Web hosting is a sea on instability. If you provide a port in the storm, users will come.

I wouldn't want to be a in a Web Hosts shoes.
If anything goes wrong (which according to Murhphy's law, something will) the client has far too many options. The customers also live in a tight nit community and if you get a couple bad reviews at WHT your toast.
But as a hosting user, I have often used the market to get myself a cheaper rate. I had a dedicated with DialTone Internet. I got them to take $80/month of my bill. When I switched servers I asked them to match RackShack and get a new box, it took 3 days to respond with a YES, but it was too late by than.

Like steve said though, there's tons of hosts out there and they're offering insane prices. I'm on two shared hosts right now that have only been around a few months. Support is great, the prices are cheap, and if they bite the dust I'll just move on to another host. Of course I'm not using the hosting for anything important or else I'd get a more reliable host.
