Red face Opinions plz!!!

I dont know alot about ecommerce so please forgive me... I just thought about it today...Is there a way to have a website where users can buy items from each other and you as the website owner recieve a small portion from the transaction, but Paypal deals with actual transaction?

Yeah i guess like ebay...how does ebay make money?....I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. I was asking in general terms, but I was gearing my question towards a website that served a particual niche market...I wouldnt just have a open marketplace for all types of items like ebay. You know what I mean? I just dont want to have to be responsible for all the personal info of the customers thats why i was wanted paypal to take care of it.

I'm pretty sure the site above is a website doing similar to what you require.

There are loads of sites out there providing free ebay style scripts. There will be something out there to meet your requirements.

Good luck with your idea.

Ebay makes money by charging people a percent of the auction they put up. If you list something, they charge you a flat fee, then a percentage of the final sale.

Ebay also owns paypal, so look out for that.
