Thumbs up Nuvowire.com - Check it out!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know about an online business that my coworker & I started up last week. It’s called Nuvowire (http://www.nuvowire.com/) and the purpose of the site is very similar to craigslist, basically providing an online community for people to find out about events, buy & sell, post jobs, chat, or whatever you may think of.

For now it’s just a small growing forum, but we’re hoping that in the future it’ll get bigger and actually provide a good service to a growing population of internet users. But yeah, do me a favor and check out the site sometime and PM me any thoughts, suggestions, & comments you may have. I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks!

If the site is similar to craigslist, why would someone go to nuvowire, when they can just go to craigslist. What advantage does nuvowire have over craiglist?

I think you have a good start to your site. I checked it out and you have a good response so far with people posting and offering things.

I am also curious as to what would draw people to a new site as opposed to craigslist or other places.

Its a good start but you might have to find a really good niche to get people to look at your site versus craglist or look at your site because you have something specific and really detailed that they need. Craiglist is a huge list of everything if you try and find a niche to focus on that might help alot. I live in Maryland that funny your site is about the D.C area small world.

Wow thanks for the responses guys. Much appreciated!

One of the reasons why I wanted to do this site was b/c I never understood how craigslist can get so much volume but have such a messy interface, and the ppl there aren't spending the effort to clean up the site design.

Our site will try to provide user friendly interface while target "linkups" b/w vendors and customers. For now we are focusing on events in this area. I'm already in contact w/ various event planning groups to advertise on our site... basically providing a one stop shop for sponsored events in this area.

Also I forgot to mention that we are giving away a free iPod Nano for the person w/ the most posts until 10/30. Check it out on the site!
