No Capital Idea for High School Student?

I've been struggling for ideas that I, a 15 year old high school student, can pursue in my spare time. Obviously I'm not expecting huge profits; $100 a month would be great. I do not have any money to invest and I am only looking for ideas relating to the internet. I do have programming experience and have considered doing some work at places like Rent A Coder, but I would rather do something that continues earning profit even when I am not working on it. My two main interests are tennis and playing music (mostly bass). If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks

I am also 15. Do something that you like. You said that you liked programming and music so why not blog about one of them and earn money through advertising? If you like this idea, do what i did: go to blogger.com and set up a free blog, then go to google.com/adsense and sign up for adsense (NOTE: Since you are only 15, when signing up for adsense: use your parents information, with their consent of course.) And then set up some ads on your site and start writing! Once you become more "advanced" in blogging and advertising, you will learn what draws visitors and clicks and you can maximize your profits. When I started out, I made 2 blogs with blogger (Which arent around anymore: nomorevirus.blogspot.com and techexposure.blogspot.com which turned into techexposure.com.) With those 2 FREE blogs, I made 64.32 in about a month, which isnt bad for 1 month and that was only writing one article a week for each. So for 1 Hour/Week I made 64 bucks. Just think of how much you can make . If you need any extra help, I am always willing. PM or email me rob.rawls@gmail.com

I am also a high school student that is looking to handle a small biz in my spare time. What Spare Time?? Well on weekends anyways. It seems I cant start a small biz in my community, but then I will just be laughed at. I think it would be cool if we tried a biz together.

guys, don't sweat it if you get laughed at for trying to succeed. You shouldn't even care what people think who don't have the guts to try to do what you want to do.

If you start with a small ecommerce site, you can build it into a huge biz with the right products, marketing and so forth. Learn about business, accounting, law, taxes and other stuff as you go. Get some advice from an accountant and a lawyer.

Hi guys,
I am 18 and a senior in high school. All my friends joke around with me for being such a "business guy" because all they like to do is screw around and party. I mean, i like to have fun, but I am so motivated to starting my own business. My mother is an entrepreneur and I am the marketing manager for her business. It's really fun. But yeah, I think it would be really cool for us to start a business together or just think of some ideas that we could do. (I got some)

Like what Rob said, you can create a free blog (blogger or wordpress) and write about something you enjoy. Then you can add some adsense and make money off of that or sell some advertising space.

fodera,

This is a plug for my own service. But you may find it useful. It would certainly require no up-front investment (though I would recommend investing in marketing).

If you have any questions, let me know. And good luck finding something!

Last year I purchased two domain names:

highschoolentrepreneur.com
highschoolentrepreneurs.com

I have been thinking about ideas for what to do with these sites. I have thought of a forum like youngentrepreneur.com but I have not really felt compelled to go in that direction.

I currently run a rep-based business for college students. This was our first year in business and we had 13 reps around the country. This year we will have close to 50.

My goal is to recruit and hire the top high school students around the country and to give them all the tools needed to succeed. This business would never include any investment or up front expense.

I want to give every high school student that is motivated to start their own business the opportunity to do so. I just need the right product/service for them.

That sounds great. I am definitely interested in that idea. I would like to help you get that started if you need any help.

If you want to unite with teens/young people to start business(es), register (for free) at http://dj13samson.proboards85.com/index.cgi

This is a venture capital firm, which is a group of people combining their funds to vote on businesses/business plans to invest in. After the investing phase for a certain company, every member has a vote on business decisions regarding that company. Depending on the investment agreement (which will be discussed by the members), members will be paid dividends. These can range from weekly to yearly dividends. When a company is eventually sold, each member will recieve their portion of the profit too.

This is a relatively low cost firm. Although we're fairly new, most members have commented that they will invest roughly $500 in the first investing period. So yes, it does take an investment to join the firm - but not alot of it.

I came up with this idea a few months ago when I was sick of not starting businesses because of my lack of funding. I decided to make a system where teens can combine their resources together - and I'm not just talking about money, but work, knowledge and talent.

All the companies that will be looked at by the members has to be already owned by an existing member. A member can also submit a business/marketing plan and outline for a future start-up. Since we are quite under funded compared to million-dollar VC firms, we expect to specialize in e-commerce/internet companies and start-ups.

If you have any questions, e-mail me at djsamson11@frontiernet.net. After the accout is created, the investing phase will begin.
