My New Site- Thoughts

I've just finished my new site. I haven't officially launched it yet, but please check it out and tell me what you think about the design and the business idea behind it all.

Im considering doing a similar site offering american sports wear, thoughts?

No way am I going to click a banner ad and download some casino software just for a 'free' football shirt which probably won't even arrive.

The fact that you've setup the whole thing in a forum is also dodgy.

I thought you were running an eCommerce store and not a forum.

Hey scotland I've been looking for some euro footy jerseys for a while now without any luck... maybe you've got what I'm looking for? They are quite hard to come by here in the States, unless it's a Beckham or Renaldo...

Yeah I can do shirts for you- maybe there is a market for you to start your own business in the US. I could give you my supplier instead if you want?

One word of advice, remove the google ads. In my experience the google ads programme generates very little revenue, but has a major impact on the professional appearance of your site. The opportunity costs greatly out weigh what you earn from this. And get yourself a new logo...I can design you a new logo pretty cheaply if you are on a budget..PM me if you are interested.

hmm, what about the fact that the site is a forum, and the fact that it is using banner ads from an online casino and wanting people to click them and install their software!

I'm sure there would be a better way to 'get rid of your excess stock' and get some advertising at the same time... think a little harder.

just my 2c

Maybe get a cpanel webhost

hi- I agree with nado, it seems like a strange way to get rid of excess stock. On the net the words "free" and "scam" do seem to go together nicely. Why not get real web hosting for your site? You can get a cpanel hosting package for under $7 a month, and that will come with software like oscommerce/zen cart- which you could build your site with.

yeah definately a start to move away from the forum.

How much excess stock do you have or go through?

I would suggest rather than trying to use affiliate programs... know your target audience... and then target them with actual free football shirts (no need to download and install anything).

Why not go to your local football association and offer them free football shirts which they can then distribute either freely or they can use the shirts as competitions? If you attach your name and website to it as well as other little information about what you sell... people who are interested in buying football shirts can then go to your site and buy them.

That way you get advertising exposure directly targetted at your target audience. You also become respected as a kind and generous business (rather than a shonky business operating through a forum and affiliate program).

Simple and effective.

Just to clarify, seeing as you quoted me out of context. I am saying that the google ads have a NEGATIVE impact on the professionalism of his site, not a positive one.
