Hi,

That's a great site.
Loving the color scheme and overall design.

- Might want to add some CSS to your links (ie: hover) with matching colors with the overall theme of your site.

- Add a picture or two on the main page, give it a little more spice, doesn't have to be a picture, but something a little more graphic such as your specials or icons of your services perhaps.

But overall, that's a pretty good site, good luck!

Thanks alot george for the advice, im definately going to add some pictures and add the hover effect to my navigation bar.

I noticed you already have an established design business so could i ask how you started? What did you do to get noticed apart from making a quality portfolio?

Best wishes

As far as getting your website to come up on the top of search engines, this may help increase your traffic: http://www.problogger.net/archives/2...fic-in-30-days

Hrm, that's a great question!
I'm going to have to charge you $150 per message for consultation fees.

Just kidding.

It takes time to build.

I've had my business for almost 3 years now and that portfolio took me a lot of running around to get. You need to have the determination to get to where you are. If you want it bad enough, you can definitely get there.

In terms of how we did it, I mainly focused on local businesses. I'm a bit of a traditionalist. I believe in offline marketing still and online marketing both at the same time.

I've had international clients because while I went there for a business trip, I just so happened to pick them up while networking.

Then while I'm back home, I'll do more advertising, word of mouth networking. After all, it's people that you're eventually working with, so you'll have to make sure that you continuously upgrade your people skills to make a sale.

Making websites and designing logos is a skill, but that skill doesn't necessarily make a sale. If you think that your sales skills are currently a weakness, then try to improve that part of your skills to close a deal.

Additionally, professionalism is also very important. Try to give people the feeling that you are professional at what you do.

And by that, I don't necessarily mean having a very nice portfolio. Portfolio is important, but the way your service is presented, the way you manage your time and level of customer service is the level of professionalism that end-users want to be able to experience.

I hope that helps and good luck!

your site is alright, nice simple layout. I am not one to talk because my site is pretty boring at the moment. Everyone on here is right. Its all about networking online and OFFLINE. I met someone in my home town just the other day and they are going to supply me with a steady steam of clients for logo design. Its all about talking it up with anyone you think could be a potiential.

Keep building that portfolio just like I am in the process of doing. Your prices seem really affordable so that can be your selling point. Glad to see another designer on the forum!

Thanks alot for your answers.

Im glad you mentioned the offline marketing because a few days ago i ordered some flyers to be printed which i am going to hand out locally.

Im also going to get an add in the local advertiser which is delivered free to most houses in the area and then im going to go to the local print shop and see if we can make a deal so i can offer printing services on my website.

Great start, but when you're doing your marketing, don't forget about your target markets. Sometimes advertising to everyone will not work. Web design and development is a competitive market so if you find that advertising to everyone is not working for you, then try targeting a smaller specific groups of people or businesses.
