I noticed you already have an established design business so could i ask how you started? What did you do to get noticed apart from making a quality portfolio?
Best wishes

Hrm, that's a great question!
I'm going to have to charge you $150 per message for consultation fees.
Just kidding.
It takes time to build.
I've had my business for almost 3 years now and that portfolio took me a lot of running around to get. You need to have the determination to get to where you are. If you want it bad enough, you can definitely get there.
In terms of how we did it, I mainly focused on local businesses. I'm a bit of a traditionalist. I believe in offline marketing still and online marketing both at the same time.
I've had international clients because while I went there for a business trip, I just so happened to pick them up while networking.
Then while I'm back home, I'll do more advertising, word of mouth networking. After all, it's people that you're eventually working with, so you'll have to make sure that you continuously upgrade your people skills to make a sale.
Making websites and designing logos is a skill, but that skill doesn't necessarily make a sale. If you think that your sales skills are currently a weakness, then try to improve that part of your skills to close a deal.
Additionally, professionalism is also very important. Try to give people the feeling that you are professional at what you do.
And by that, I don't necessarily mean having a very nice portfolio. Portfolio is important, but the way your service is presented, the way you manage your time and level of customer service is the level of professionalism that end-users want to be able to experience.
I hope that helps and good luck!
