lol...dont know how this works

If google adsense pays per click can't you just post a note at the top of the site that tells the people on your forum to click on some of the ads.... or is it that once they click they have to sign up to the sites on the ads?

No, that's against their rules. You cannot encourage anyone to click on your ads. If you do, you take the risk of them yanking the ads and banning you.

it also falls into the category of "click fraud" which could get you in real trouble.

bbal, are you sure? I thought that was just using proxies or simulating clicks

And the answer to the original question is no. I did this, and on gaining around 120$ my account was banned.

One thing I wonder is, is it against the rules to encourage people to at least "look" at your ads?

I am sure that by now, many people browse a site, and those very common text links are almost invisible to them, and they hardly acknowledge that they exist.

It is one thing to say "Click on my ads!", and it is a whole other thing to say "Look at my ads!"

I'm pretty sure that if you gain a substantial amount from encouraging, or having your friends click, etc. that they can classify it as click fraud.

I had a friend do this a little while back and he got a threatening letter from Google saying if he was caught again that they would consider taking legal action for click fraud and violating their terms of agreement.

Who knows though things could have changed. Bottom line...don't do it.

I thought it was just against their Terms Of Service and they would ban your account.

Yes they'll ban your account if you do that or if you click on the ads yourself.
