I found a good logo through yahoo images. However, I'm aware I need permission to use it. I've emailed 2 different addresses from the site but the email addresses don't exist anymore. What would happen if I use it without telling them?

If the image is still a registered trademark, then there is the possibility of a lawsuit. If in doubt, don't do it.

I am not a lawyer, please talk with one for legal advice such as this.

Is a verbal agreement enough to use the logo or do i need written/email consent?
what about one of clip art from Microsoft Word?
