Link Exchanges

I am looking for a few people who are willing to do a link exchange with me. I started a website that I am kind of taking serious right now so if your interested in exchanging links with me, send me a PM.

Thanks and hope to be getting some PM's soon

Some stats: I began the site 5 days ago (on August 12th) and I've received over an estimated 175 unique visitors to my site. That equals out to about 35 new visitors a day. May not sound like much, but keep in mind that my site is new. And it keeps climbing higher and higher each day as I'm promoting it through various methods.

Dustin, two things: First of all, you said you received over an estimated 175 unique visitors to your site. If you're keeping track of you're stats, you should know the exact number of visitors to your site. "Estimated" means you're not sure of the exact number of visitors. See my point?

Second, exchanging links with just anyone is not a good idea. You should only exchange links with websites that have themes relevant to yours, as well as higher page rank.

In addition, reciprocal linking is greatly devalued by Google and in fact can get you banned if you link to a bad neighborhood. It can also ruin your site's reputation, because you're linking out to all this trash. I say trash because most sites will link to any website for a link back. Not a good idea.

Relevant backlinks are what ranks pages, and a site with tons of reciprocal links but no inbound links will be considered useless by Google and the value of the links on that site will plummet.

^^ Points well taken Dale... you assumed though I wasn't keeping track of my stats.

Here's the thing. For the first 2 days I was using "AwStats." I then switched from AwStats to a program called "Stuffed Tracker." When I did this, I removed my AwStats, bad idea yes. In any manner, when I removed my AwStats, I had 115 visitors, and then Wednesday I had 29 unique, Thursday I had 23 and now so far today I had 8. 175 unique visitors

And I understand exchanging links isn't the safest thing, especially exchanging with just anyone. Thats why I said to PM me, so I can filter out ones I'm not interested in (hence the reason I didn't just link it out.) And I know some people on here have to be serving some kind of relavance, after all, its a "money" blog. There you go, I gave a hint.

By the way, thanks for the advice. Never knew reciprocal links were that bad, I did submit to some directories and thats what got me the 115 unique visits in 2 days. But now is the big test... I SUBMITTED TO DMOZ *GASPS*

Wish me luck in inclusion...

Dustin, thanks for not taking my advice personally. Here's something else you should know. DMOZ is having all kinds of problems, and to my knowledge hasn't approved any new websites in at least 2 years.

Most people "in the know" avoid them altogether, because they've become an irrelevant joke. They just don't matter anymore.

^^ Ah, good advice my friend. You have to excuse me... I'm getting into the whole Search Engine Optimization thing, maybe you could give a young go getter like me a tip or 2 for my future references. I am trying to get ranked in the search engines well, not to mention that I need an SEO guru (or close to one) advice on my keywords.

Care if I shoot them over for your opinions? Also, what necessarily besides backlinks and site optimization would you say will boost me up in the search engines?

I shot you my site for reference. I am sure you'll say it looks cluttered first off but hopefully my site still passes your criteria. Take a look and let me know.

I have set up a blog with an authority site (betterthanbacklink.com) in order to feed the high pagerank to some of my sites. To me, this is more cost effective than purchasing high Page Ranking links on a monthly basis.

Dustin, I'm a marketing expert. I'm not an Search Engine Optimization expert, nor do I pretend to be one. While I have above average knowledge about SEO, there are others who specialize in SEO with far more knowledge than I.

I would recommend that you visit the various Search Engine Optimization forums like I do and lurk and learn. Here are a few of the SEO forums I visit:
