Just snagged a great domain...

designgrail.com

Expect content up really soon, I'm going to seriously bust the web design industry wide open with what's going to be on this site =). I searched for years to find a place that provided me with GOOD info on exactly how I could spend my time and money to make money as a freelance web designer. Not just general trash like sitepoint and such give you, but I'm talking about a complete archive of everything that me and several other web design entrepreneurs (who like myself, have been at this a while, and learned a lot!) have experienced:

exactly what works, and what doesn't work:

- exactly where to go and what to do to get an operational business model
- filling up your portfolio : how to get quality work for your portfolio quickly
- getting sales: go from zero to hero in 2 weeks, and for only a few $$$
- managing projects: how to do it yourself, how to outsource. Guidelines for making sure the client is happy and you're paid.
- Building lasting relationships: how you can position yourself for mutual gain with your clients: you grow with them, they grow with you, etc. What to say, and how to secure it.

I'm getting pretty excited. I think this will be really helpful, and I really wish I could have found something like this when I first started out. Of course you'll have to pay for it, but it will be affordable, and trust me, if you're willing to do the work you're going to make the money.
