My free Web hosting site is going to be my main focus for at least the next month. As such, I'd like to start off by getting suggestions from you guys on what some good methods for increasing signups would be.

I would first decide if you are going to focus on those who already have websites and getting them to switch, or focusing on those who are likely to put up a new site. That might help you narrow down your marketing avenues.

Think of a niche of the ppl that sign up for hosting acct, focus on a few of the niches, try to become the standard "free" method for those people and it should expand from there.

My former host was a free host and the reason I went with them was because they supported php, databases....hmmm and some other stuff I can not remember off hand. But decide what you would really want in a site and make sure to include that. Oh control panel is good and maybe cron jobs. Maybe a lot of people using your site will not know how to use some of the stuff but other customers will be very happy. Just a matter of time before they all start telling their friends.



Opps one more. Could you have some stuff that will auto install stuff like forums and so forth. Might be a good idea. Everyone wants their own forums or blogs,
