I would like to make a blog. is Blogger the best?

Hi

I wanted to make my first blog.
I love writing and I am just wondering if using Blogger was the best and easiest way to make a blog that also includes Google Ad sense and Adbrite?

Thanks

I dont think you are allowed to use adbrite on googles blog service (blogger).

Why use blogger when it's so easy and inexpensive to get your own domain name and use WordPress (www.wordpress.org) to author your blog?

I use word press, I don't know about blogger though so I can't compare.

This is my blog: http://thepoetryblog.com for you to get an idea. It was fairly simple to set up. Many hosting sites offer word press default, as mine did, but you can also DL it for free.

I think it's ideal if you have your own domain, and if you don't you can still import blogs from other sources (blogger, and a few others).

Yes I have my own hosting and 7.coms and 5 websites already. Yet again I am still trying to learn about blogging.

I recommend you using wordpress or typepad. As its against googles TOS i think to use adbrite on blogger but im not 100% sure, you could always drop them an email.

I don't use adbright at all but as far as comparing wordpress to blogger, I use both.

Wordpress is going to very dependable because you are the one hosting it. It's very easy to manipulate and you can get help with it from tons of resources.

But Blogger is free. If you have finacial limitations it's perfect. It's not your own hosting so a lot of people are concerned about downtime. Since using blogger I personally have been very satisfied with their uptime.

I usually start with blogger for development of the site and then if I want to go further, I push it over to wordpress.

Good luck!

I started this blogger site this morning www.thebestwife.com and as far as the eye can see, it's use-able.

I suggest the same. There is no point in buying a new domain and setting up wordpress on a server if you have never blogged before. Setup a free account at blogger.com which takes like 10 minutes, then after a few months see where you are at and go from there. 90% of people will find themselves posting daily for about a week or two then the blog just dies due to lack of drive to post (most likely because you aren't making and ad money or have no traffic).

If you need help with anything though I do work with both blogger and wordpress installations, customizations, and management on a daily basis through my site, goblain.com.

Best of luck to ya man,
