Hy all,
Well some how i managed to do it, 1 million hits to a website which was initially set up as a bet with my girlfriend. I now know the difference between hits and visitors thanks to members of this forum. I can see from the stats on statcounter.com that visitors are more important for a commercial gain than hits but the aim was purely hits.
I was advised by the webhosts and some members from here to place some ads to help with the running costs, i can confirm that i have made very little.
This excercise was just that, an excercise to help me understand websites a little better and gain some more practical knowledge.
Hopefully the site will get some more visitors than hits and will help to sustain itself financially.
A big thanks to you all for your advice and opinions and encouragement.
I have added a page for people to add their websites as a text link ( this was requested by a few people ) so if you wish to add then please drop me a line.

Now yourve made your target i would sell your domain asap, with the amount of visitors on top of the fact that the world cup is taking place you might get a bit for it
