Hi everybody I have a few questions. I've landed a big surplus of Iranian handmade persian rugs, something that my family knows much about. I was wondering, how to start a website for free and how to get it working/ making and putting pictures on it. All help is appreciated. Thanks

Now thats a loaded question. I like Bravenet for free web hosting but You may need something better/bigger with shopping cart help etc - if you plan to actually sell online as well. Another great hosting resource is ResellerPanel.com.

there you can become your own internet webhosting service provider. You get a free site to promote web hosting and you can be your own first customer. You wil set the pricing. I believe $3.75/mo is the cheapest you can set it. See my store at www.UrlGuru.com

But there are a ton of other avenues to go. Free webhosting is everywhere you look. Als you could consider just using a blog or create a rug forum.

You have a long learning curve ahead of you but stick around here and ask very specific questions and people will help.

I just started hosting with NetFirms, normally the plan I'm on is $9.95/month, but with a promo code I was able to pay only $10 FOR AN ENTIRE year.

Rob.Rawls on this board also hosts with them and he's the one who referred me. So far I've had no problems, and they have a guide on how to set up an e-commerce shop, I think it's included in the package.

The coupons max, amazing hosting. You could even produce a nice niche website with the other free domain and sell it on when you start to get a bit of traffic

Morpheus, the company is overselling, by posting the code you are actually decreasing the speed of your hosting. The company knows what its doing :P (take the way the keep moving the deadline back 2 months)

Well, tripod.com has a free hosting section with helpers/editors to code pages, lots of options, templates and ad-ons. They do have a fairly big ad on the top of your web-page though.
