HELP with web hosting

Hey guys. What is the best web host available. I am starting on this internet idea of mine. I am looking for something cheap to start off with then if my website goes big I will move on. Since I will be incorporating PHP and MySQL into my site to add dynamics I would need a host that supports/has PHP server and MySQL. Also, the database and web host must be able to support large file downloads/uploads/streaming and users coz I will have quite a few video files on offer in my sight.

Also, which would be better PHP or ASP. I am deciding to use PHP coz its open source and I know a bit about it but if ASP is better then I might decide to change over.

Thanks

If I were you I would go with Php. IMO it is easier to learn and more powerful. These days especially the corporate world has shown that and proven that with entirely enormous applications running at enterprise levels smoothly. ASP or any Microsoft technology based hosting will typically be more expensive because their tech and software cost money whereas Linux or Php & MySQL are free.

We support just about everything as well as high volume audio/video usage as long as you stay within the bandwidth/diskspace limits of the allocated package and don't incur a large amount of system resources that might slow other accounts on the server. If you want to check us out, http://www.dkahost.com we offer some of the most competitive web-hosting plans on the internet with free live phone support 24 hours a day 7 days a week for all of your needs. Our first plan starts at $4.95 a month, less than 18 cents a day!

Not to throw myself a promo here but I thought I would pop my head in. Wherever you decide to go don't be shy with asking more questions about your website and getting it started, there are quite a few web developers and programmers that are more than willing to give you a hand and offer advice. Best of luck!
