Help with e-book?

Hi all

After getting my website featured in who knows how many media outlets nationally I reckon that's e-book worthy... it's more original than the constant "money making system" bull crap.

But where do you start?

what do you need to know?

Just write the book and promote it. Sounds simple! The important thing is good sales promotion and testimonials. You need testimonials so people know the product is working and worth the money if you intend to sell it. I will send you a testimonial once your product is written if you want send me the product to try.

I am in the process of writing an ebook. There are ebooks and ebooks, the value will depend on the content, benefits, features and promotion. If you really cant see the wood for trees, goto my site eggvault.com (in my signature) and do a search in the search box near the middle of the page. You will fing the best software and information on the net for creating ebooks.

But where do you start?
1. start with http://www.changethis.com/

2. before you publish the ebook about PR, identify the main bloggers who you want to cover the story (i.e. http://www.australiansmallbusiness.net.au/, http://www.marketingforsuccess.com/blog/), and offer them a review of their blog on the back/middle pages if they do a review/link about your ebook on their blog

3. once you have these endorcements, you can pitch the small business/media editors of aussie newspapers

4. use these accomplishments later on in your career for stellar results

that's a way to start

Thanks there

The e-book isn't going to be a '3 step system' or any crap like that

It's going to be a real world story - what one guy did with all the PR advice, how I got national coverage, what I did right, what I did wrong. It's not going to be expensive, it's just going to be a practical read.

Question; how do you measure the value of an e-book if almost all e-books lets say on SEO, talk about almost the same things, strategies, only of different authors and prices. How do you know your competitive advantage? (testimonials?)

Well all these books are more academic - 10 ways to do this, all the nuts and bolts of SEO

This is more of a 'story' driven book - ie. what happens when you finish reading the books and head out into the real world? Just HOW did I get interviews with 30 or 40 media outlets and make the Mexican Wave one of the most talked about issues in the whole of Australia? How did I get the idea? Can it be done again? etc etc What strategies worked? Also how did I stuff up - the regrets I have and the things I should have done.

I have enough credibility to talk about what I did because it wasn't dumb luck, I was sitting there making my website telling my brother (I live with my brothers) to stay away so I could finish the website, get the media release out and go to bed so I can get some sleep in time for the calls from the breakfast radio stations to get an interview.

Here's the general concept.

You start with a small product (<$10). The offer an upsell for 35% of the value of the first product.

Then you back-end the higher priced products. (audio / video / bigger ebooks)
