Google Looking To Purchase YouTube for $1.6 Billion

A massive rumor has spread across the web and if it rings true could be the biggest internet related buyout of 2006. According to the Wall Street Journal, it appears that Google is in talks to buy out YouTube for the hefty price of....here comes Dr. Evil....muah ha ha, muah ha ha $1.6 billion dollars.

I've only heard rumours about google and yahoo! but the price is varied i've heard from just over $1.2 Billion to as high as $2.4 Billion however, we will jst have to see if the rumours come into anything but know the ball is rolling, i do think someone will make an offer for it.

For a company who apparently does not make money - that is a good price. However if you look at the 100 million page views and then doa small 1% return - that is 10 million clicks on adsense. And then if you do a 1 penny per add, that is $1 million a day. So they must be making something I would think, although that bandwidth must be a killer.

I wonder if Google is just buying them so they don't have to pay all that money. And is Yahoo maybe wanting them for their own ads

Google saw themselves losing a battle of the sites that carry videos, so what's a better way then to acquire one. I'm sure that once the take over takes place Google will adsense the hell out of YouTube, and will make that money within a year if not faster. Bandwith would not be a problem for Google especially with all of the servers they have.
PS As long as my Google stock is going up, I"M HAPPY

well, its a good decision seeing how google video pretty much sucks, they may as well just buy out youtube, save them the effort
