Finally! Critique my site plz :)

Gah, this was the hardest thing I've ever done. lol I'm at a loss of words. Anyways I've FINALLY finished my site and would love some feedback, this is my first real site so I'm pretty excited

I used yahoo for my host and iono I kinda regret it, because I was talking to my uncle and he said that if I spent a little time learning php, merchant accounts, ssl cert.,perl, etc. I would have made a great site without spending a lot of money on yahoo, I practically didn't use any of yahoos features except the ssl and shopping cart. lol I plan to learn all that stuff now though.

Anyways heres my site, can't order anything yet since I have to set up a payment and shipping system:

http://www.cgwave.com/

I know the cart link looks weird, I was planning on adding more stuff, but my knowledge was limited.

Can you guys go through it and see if I'm missing something or give me some advice?

edit : lol I noticed the broken links in the printers section
edit II : fixed
edit III: best viewed with IE

Nice looking site you have there.

However have found a few problems.
  • Some of you pages have links to inactive pages. Eg. The 'home' link on your privacy policy page links to an inactive link (home.html)
  • The main navigation bar at the top could be a little clearer

Just a few quick things.

good stuff

your site lacks alot of things which are critical for sales

it's not made with customers in mind

to improve, you gotta follow a formula and implement a range of tactics like email lists, promotional offers, and a whole bunch of other stuff

i think you will enjoy to discover the principles of ecommerce and salesmanship

Some 2 centers

you should consider adding more safety thumbnails on your site like the ones you have on the bottom. Definintely a live tech support, and a 1800 number to contact you it will increase the likelyness of a person willing to actually buy due to safety matters.

Also I'd associate with some people who do internet sales too. That'll be your biggest help.

I would put up a link that says "New to computer graphics?" or something that led the visitor to a buyers guide. I've bought CG tablets before, and I've had nothing but headaches with them --- yet I KNOW high end designers find them useful and productive.

I think you could get a lot of noobs to buy if you provided some content and some shopping tips. Overall the site is pretty clean, looks like a good start.

Good luck,
