I am also starting an online biz soon. What kind of problems did you face initially? I am facing many problems right now. One of the main things is the shipping cost because i am targeting the US and i am in Asia.

Maybe would like to hear from you soon? Do you have msn? Ha maybe we could chat online when free

Yea added you in msn. Hmm i thought you already launched your website? What you mean by launch when you already have the site up on the net? Kinda confused.

Well basically i am also doing etailing like you do but i keep being questioned about my store not being unique and that people can copy it easily. Whats your opinion on this since most retailing business can be easily copied. (Unlike a business like Dell...). Get what i mean? Ya. Sometimes i get discouraged by that but it also poses as a challenge to me to rethink my business.

Now i am having nightmares getting suppliers. Its either they take you as a small business or that these suppliers that i contacted are old aged bosses where they are not familiar with drop shipping and stuff. And also i am now getting my supplies from retailers instead of wholesalers. There are pros and cons to these but what do you think? Its easier to get small quantity goods from retailers but at low margins. If i get from wholesalers, margins "may be" good but its hard to find one that entertain your small orders. So now my solution is to find a retailer that operates near my home and who could supply me with the goods. Do you think its a good idea?

The website is on the net because from day one my designer has uploaded changes so i can see them and also so i can work on the backend (adding products, etc.). We still get random orders every once in awhile but if you go thru the store you will see that not many products are in yet.

As for the supplier question.... you need to go wholesale no matter what or you wont be able to compete....even if you go wholesale sometimes its hard to compete.

With any retail business it can be copied.... just stay ahead of your competition...

And rember when something goes wrong there is a reason for it and if you stick with your plan something better will come out of it. I had many problems with suppliers when i started and if i wouldnt of had the problems i wouldnt of snagged the supplier partnership. There are many perks if you arent branded a customer. For example ..... I just got done talking with petfinder.com (they are the largest rescue organazation for pets) and we are going to partner to donate a bunch of toys, etc to a bunch of rescues and organazations. My supplier is more then willing to do this with me because they have a bunch of dead inventory laying around that they need to get rid of and they know the plublicity will make them more money in the long run then selling the dead inventory to there retailers at there cost.

When your site goes live let me know. I will add links on my main pages of my pet sites to your site. As well as keep the link I have currently.
