Could we hear from you how you managed to partner such a big company since you are just a small business. Maybe i can pick a tip or two for my ecom biz too

The truth is it was all luck. I was at the right place at the right time kinda deal.

I had to make a million phone calls and emails and i had to do a lot of research before it tough.

I didnt want to go with a dropshipping comapany or a distributor that drop shipped.
I wanted my own deal and so that is what i went after.

I contacted lots of distributors that didnt do dropshipping and asked them if they are willing to service my sales, etc.

Then i got lucky and a the owner of the one distributor that i contacted was thinking about starting up a retal division ..... so basically im thier retail division.

All luck thats all.

That doesn't sound like "luck" to me. You did all the work into contacting people and asking them about it. That's work in itself.

Congrats!

Ya maybe your right Ben .... it wasnt to hard though.

The only advantages to the partnership are

20% discount from regular wholesale price they have plus volume discounts and dolalr amount discounts...

But the one i like is im not a customer now... me and the distributor are working together to make "our" dropship program work for both of us. I dont have to follow company rules, etc.

For example i will be using my own UPS account for shipping so i know i will be getting charged actual shipping, etc.

Not many dropshippers will do that....but i am making the program so i make it how i want

newcomer to dropshipping

I am a newbie to e-commerce and I was just wondering about dropshipping. How much does it usually take to start up a small scale e-commerce store that utilizes dropshipping. I think this might be a nice little side project for me. I would love to hear your repsonses. By the way, if i was to do something in this feild, I would spend no more than $800 for startup. Looking forward to hear you responses.

Ill say it time and time again... any dropshipper site sells the stuff for pretty much retail price giving you no advantage in the online retail market. Those prices at that site are horrible.... most of those products i found cheaper at retail shops online.

Really?

What other online shops have you seen cheaper prices for the same products?

Thanks

Just go to Bizrate.com and search for the products.

That isnt a wholesale site...they just are a retail site that will dropship.

If you deal with a bonafide wholesaler they will need all your business info on hand. (tax ID #, ressler #, etc.)
