Have you ever written a post on your blog purely for the traffic it will generate? Whether it be because of controversy or whatever?

I just attempted one, here:

5 Reasons Why You Will Fail At Blogging

I only uploaded it about 1 1/2 hours ago, and my stats program is showing 49 hits on that page already!

I am close to hitting my new traffic goal of 300 in one day as well, so hopefully this will push it over the line!

I would love to hear everyone elses traffic generation stories!

I don't think that I got played at all. I spent 10 seconds looking into something that I knew nothing about, but which piqued my interest (that's actually pronounced like peekt, spork, not py-cued). That is what advertising is all about, and that is how we learn. I would like to think of this website as a resource and as a network of like-minded individuals helping each other, so I don't understand this whole "You got played, bro!!" mindset.

Nice, I read your other post first about unsubscribing, then this one, and it made me laugh. The power of a well written title
