I just searched this forum and found no mentions of Squidoo! (www.squidoo.com) I only found out about it yesterday. However, I have read plugs of it for a month or two now.

This site is amazing. It is alot like making your own blog but quicker and easier.

On Squidoo you make a "lens" your lens can be about whatever. This lens you create, can establish you as the residential expert. You can also make money off of your lens by getting royalties from companies like amazon and ebay if you feature them in your lens.

I made mine in about 45 minutes:: Anxiety x Panic + Fear = Beatable

You can add a bunch of different modules that do different things or you can pick a customized template with pre-determined modules.

I see lots of potential uses for these exspecially with affiliate marketing. Well what do you guys think?

Squidoo. With the backing of Marketing guru, Seth Godin, it was easily assumed that Squidoo would do pretty well, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. Squidoo is a concept that had great potential to work 5 years ago, but now there is no reason for anyone to create a page and fill it with links to other places simply to look as though they are an expert in that category. In this user-generated era of content users always expect to get paid (Note: “paid” doesn’t always mean monetarily) and Squidoo offers no real benefits for anyone to invest their time in.

thats odd...yeah 5 years ago squidoo would have been ahead of its time and legendary.

You can make money off of your squidoo lens. Its a free link to your site on a page thats about your site. You can increase exposure to your cause or niche.

I also think its much less intimidating. In regards to pitching your website to someone, versus hey check out my Squidoo lens.

The only valid point in that guys argument is that it takes up time. I lost 45 minutes of my life to make my squidoo...not so bad.

Your squidoo can drive traffic to your site, your squidoo might get tagged by delicious, or even a digg, or maybe people will vote your squidoo into the top 100 and you can capitalize on their traffic.

I am having a hard time seeing my 45 minutes as a bad investment.

I like squidoo, quite a valuable site; for everything you mention and more search engines and branding.

Squidoo And Google

First of all, Squidoo like many other social sites do pretty well at the SERPS ( search engine results page), so a 'lens' done well, i.e well researched keyword littering and interlinks (anchors and out going) can do very well in search ( this off course this is easier said than done, but can be accomplished) and its all ethical.


Squidoo And Branding

Secondly writing there and at other sites like (wikinote, script) helps to establish you as a expert in your niche, thus your 'lens' would be directing traffic to your site ( please put back links to your site, yeah people forget),so you become a destination, and you get your brand name out there.

I've been a member of Squidoo for 3 months now.

I created around 19 lens.

At first my lens rank 75,000 but fortunately it moved up to top 100.

The highest rank I've reached is rank 75. Now my lens rank start to go down again down but I'm working hard to maintain its ranking.

Anyway Squidoo is really a fun site. It's very easy to use. You have lots of module to choose from.

i create a squidoo page with an ebook but for some reason it looks like squidoo dont allow form buttons on there? but some I see that they use forms how is this possible?
