Do I Need A Business ID for Internet Businesses? i want to start a website store and i want to get into the trade shows but every1one i asked said i need a business id to get in....... can sum 1 help plz?

If you are going to use a business name that's different than your personal name, you'll have to register with the goverment. If you are in Canada, you'll can register as a sole proprietorship for $60CDN online. In US, you'll probably need to register a DBA, or fictious Business Name.

If you are purchasing from a big wholesaler, they might also ask you for a some thing like State Tax Permit or Vendor's permit.

For tradeshows, hmm, I never heard that you need an ID to get in. May be you can get away with showing them your master business licenses Downhere in Toronto, there are lots of free siminars around, the ones that I attend never asked me for an ID.
