I agree with you. Some people are so jealous and to make them feel better about themselves they try to bring everyone else down to their level.

Oh, sorry... I forgot to mention that part, didn't I?

We DO have legislation here on bonuses and payouts that CEOs (and board members in general) can receive due to all the underhanded stuff that happened with the HIH collapse.
It was basically Australia's Enron...

The corporate malfeasance of both of those scandals should have been a wakeup call on the sort of money these people are being paid and their real value, both the the company and the economy at large.

If I was doing my job properly, I would.
I'd see it as a waste of shareholder's money... and then lose my job for letting the cat out of the bag.
Failing that, I'd make sure I donated a lot of it to charities, both in my name and that of the company, so as to get a lot of positive Page Ranking.

...I'm sure CEOs making that kind of money are REALLY worried about their page ranking....

Although I do think they are paid to much, they still deserve a substantial amount of money, and if you think of it in terms of % of profit for company it really isn't that much. Or if they have a bad year it terms of overall shareholder equity it isnt that much.
