We at AJOH are currently evaluating investing in the purchase/resale of domain names. Does anybody here have a lot of experience in how to do this, generally, to make as much as possible?

We have up until now mainly been offering economical assistance, and rental of office equipment. We do however believe that this may be a good source of revenue. Our domains for sale will then be posted on our website, and maybe we can make some additional features on that site too?

Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas regarding this?

If so, all help is greatly appreciated.

To be honest, purchase/resale of domain names didnt work with. You should be really good and updated on daily news! So that you capture the domain on the HOT news worldwide. As far as I know all the major good domains has already been taken. But it would be good if you can fins out some good ones. Anyways, I have a domain name for sale you can see in my signature below. I am involved in the buying/selling of domains, although not on the level of starting a business out of it.

I recommend visiting dnjournal.com, dnforum.com, and namepros.com and reading everything you can. Search for godaddy bulk coupons on namepros, you can save a ton of money buy buying in bulk.

It is a tough business to get into, but you can strike rich anytime. A $7 domain, could net you $100,000 in an instant. An example is when Nintendo announced it's new system was going to be name Wii and not revolution. The price of wii names went way up... You have to stay on top of things in this market.

Yesh that is what I suggested as well i.e. to be on top of the market. But these even the companies are getting intelligent by blocking all the different types of domain names in their name,so that they dont have to shell out million bucks to get the domain of their choice. I find it a very risky business.

well you can still find some good ones, such as yesterday i bought the ones in my sig, along with www.ssbbforums.com (super smash brothers brawl) one of the main releases for the wii.

I know this isnt a site for selling domains or anything but I think it would be nice to have a section of the forum for selling them, because anytime someone mentions buying or selling domains everyone uses it as an excuse to advertise their own ones. Thats just my thoughts anyway.

Yes its a fun business and it has its ups and downs. I've been doing fairly well with domains. I put about 500 bucks upfront and purchased some names, Ive made about 5,000 bucks so far in the past 4 months and I only try to sell once in a while. It can be very rewarding and boring at the same time. Sometimes its hard to sell a name but theres always a buyer out there. I think that if you know what your doing theres no way you can lose in the domain biz, everyday the value of a name goes up. Just read up before you start buying.
