Blogging Unleashed Preview

Hey guys!

You all probably know I launched my new Blogging Unleashed newsletter this week. I am sure a lot of you want to know exactly what you will be getting before you consider signing up so I have decided to make the first issue available for you to read.

-----------------------------------------------

Blogging Unleashed Newsletter by Thomas Sinfield

Have you ever We hit the ground running with this, the first
of our Blogging Unleashed newsletters.

Are you thinking of starting a blog in one of the super
competitive niches? Like 'Make Money Online'?

---------------------

Hello Thomas,

I received this question via email yesterday and I thought it
would be a great for the inaugural Blogging Unleashed email.

Good Day,

My name is ********* and i have a question that have been
bothering me for awhile and i would like to hear your own
opinion on this.

"What will be your advice to a new blogger who intends to
start on a niche that is already saturated eg.'Make Money
Online'?"

I am looking forward to your reply.

With so many blog being created each and every day it is no
surprise that blogging is becoming more and more competitive.
However the focus seems to be on creating blogs in just a
select few niches - with a preference to the 'make money
online' niche.

So how do you set yourself up from the start to succeed?

1. Find A Niche In A Niche

This is one of the most important things that you can do
as you look to starting your own blog in a competitive niche.
If the niche you want to enter is 'Dogs' and you feel this is
to competitive for you liking, then why not focus on just
big dogs or a certain breed of dogs.

The benefit of doing this is that you are giving yourself
less competition but you will also find that a lot of the
people looking for blogs on dogs will also find your blog
of interest - making your potential readers not much smaller.

2. Find Your Unique Voice

Your voice is the tone of your blog. The way that you say
things. Are you a positive blogger? An analytical blogger?
Maybe you are even a critical blogger, the main thing is that
you find your own unique voice and stick with it.

Having a unique voice means that you don't have to be making
as much as ShoeMoney or John Chow to become popular. People
will subscribe to your blog because the find you interesting.

I wrote a great comparison between John Chow and Caroline
Middlebrook on my blog looking at how different their
blogging voices are - yet how they are both successful
bloggers.

Read it here:

Don’t Lets Your Voice Get Drowned Out By What You Say!

3. Content Is King

No matter how good your blog looks, or how good your
competition was that got your visitors to visit you websites,
it is your content that will make them stay.

I challenge you to have a look at your blog from a visitors
perspective. Is your content quality? in depth? unique?
interesting? challenging? inspiring?

If it is not, then what are you going to do about it? Or even
better, how do you go about it?

Here is ten ways to make sure that your content keeps your
visitors coming back time and time again.

1. Chose Your topic Carefully

2. Study The Topic

3. Create A Killer Headline

4. Deliver The Content

5. Use Bullet Points

6. Choose Photos Wisely

7. Make Your Opinion Known

8. Use Lists

9. Provoke Your Readers

10. Don’t Go On Too Long

This list was extracted from my blog post, visit it to read
the full expanded version. You can view it here:

10 Steps to a Killer Blog Post!

4. Network And Don't Stop

Ok, now you have done all the hard work making you blog ready
so that when visitors arrive they are presented with a blog
they you are sure the will enjoy and want to return too -
all you have to do now is find them.

Networking with other bloggers has been one of my favourite
parts of blogging. I will regularly spend at least an hour
a day commenting other blogs and networking with other blog
owners in my niche.

What I have found is that I will not only get just the traffic
and the backlink from the comment but I will also get mentioned
in other blogs quite regularly due the my content - using the
steps above, as well as receiving emails asking for advice
like the one at the start of this email.

Networking is so important for your long term sustainability
in any niche and I recommend you spend a substantial amount
of your time doing it.

------------------------------------------------------------

Well that is the first Blogging Unleashed email. I really
hope that you enjoyed it and were able to get something out
of it.

If you have any comments or thoughts feel free to email me
at: tsinfield@emazeholdings.com

Until next week, just keep blogging and start to apply some
of the things I have mentioned above.

I highly recommend that you subscribe to my blog feed so you
can see exactly how I post and the way I write to attract and
retain visitors.

I especially like this comment... i dont think everyone asks themselves these questions and they should. I've visited many blogs that really gave me no purpose to come back. Iwould also suggest that when asking urself these questions, also ask, what will get my visitors to come back?

to continued success,
Chaunna

Thanks Chaunna!

I have to continually remind myself that. I sometimes just go through a stage where I just write a post in 5 minutes, no real substance and then wonder why I'm not getting traffic.

I have noticed you mention me a couple of times I really appreciate it!

Why not add a tag line at the bottom of every post indicating the topic of the next post. Seems like a very easy way to keep people coming back for more, especially if each post is somewhat related to the previous, even in just the slightest way, so that you know that the reader of the first post will find some interest in the next. Good luck.

I don't see a need to keep them coming back as it is an email subscription so they automatically get it. But letting them know about the next topic is still a great idea! I will consider it for the next email going on in the next couple of days.

I like this idea, Jmen. It's like how soap operas show a trailer at the end of the broadcast for the next episode to entice viewers to continually 'tune in'. This will be especially easy for my blog since we have an abundance of pre-developed content [45-60 days worth].

RK,
Have you thought about a feasible method for monetizing email subcriptions?

i just mentioned giving ppl a reason to come back because not many ppl with sign up for email subscription "just cause"... before i hand out my name and email, i have to have a reason and I often dont sign up on my first visit... therefor if i see a reason to want more info in the future I'd sign up to get that...

Hope this helps

Yes I have. There are a couple of ways I will be monetizing this email list, but not, as I want to focus on building the list before I start implementing these methods.

1. To create raving fans, that will know who I am, and are used to me providing quality content, so that I will have a good launch pad when I release blogging related products.

2. On the odd occasion I will be recommending a product (not very regularly at all) which will have an affiliate link.

3. I am also using this list to promote my blog, and increase the subscriber count and reader base of my blog which will allow me to charge more for advertising and reviews.

None of these are get rich quick methods. I am all about creating a long term sustainable income.

These are some great tips for anyone looking to make money. I especially like that you pointed out they are not get rich quick schemes... making money online is not as easy as people think and it takes alot of dedicated work. It's also hard to get ppl to trust you online because of all the scammers out there.

You have some great tips and have put effort into a reliable and trustworthly online business.. more ppl should follow this example
