I'm looking for something that can create a blog on my own personal website. I am currently using word press, which is fine, but I want more control over my page. Does anyone have any resources that I can use to make my own blog on my own website.

wordpress is already very good in terms of page control, its gonna be hard to find something better

go to craigslist and find someone that will design your own template. My websmaster created my blog wordpress template

How much more customization do you need? Wordpress lets you do everything! If you are talking about page layout and design, all you need to do is edit the template files, or find one of the many freely available on the internet.

For a blog, wordpress really is the way to go. There are other solid options out there such as SilverStripe but they tend to be more complicated.

Steven, they are right in that WordPress is the best package out there. The thing is, you need to get a regular Web hosting account to host your own installation, so that you can install a better template. This would give you control over every aspect of the page's look.

If I do go through word press and use their blog templates, can I edit them for my images? That is what I really want to do. I want to incorporate the image on my signature to be the header of my website and blog. I did on my free word press account already but I can't do advertisements on the page unless I install the program on my website.
