Best place to buy domain? newbie questions...

I want to buy a domain but at the moment I dont know if I will use it or sell it?, so something cheap and will park it, is godaddy the best?

Also if I decide to use it how would I host it? transfer it over to a hosting site?

If I decide to sell it how will that work? how will I transfer the domain to the new owner?

i know these are newbie questions but Ill really appreciate it.

Thank You

I use 1and1.com. Registering a .com is only $6.99 a month and they have a good control panel to control everything. They have easy integration with sedo.com for parking the domain if you decide that route.

Selling or transfering the domain I have found is usually the same across the board. It takes a little time because you have to sign off on certain things which takes faxing/mailing.

Best of luck.

godaddy.com for sure.

$6.95 a month is expensive for 1and1.com... i thought they were cheaper than that... that sounds like a hosting price rather than domain name.

Anyway.. godaddy is like $9 a year to register a domain and they put up a placeholder for you.

ya, I just want to park it for like a year, because its a really hot name well I think so and I think it should sell right away but still im thinking of developing it.

Also if I do decide to buy should i buy the .com, .net, .info etc etc so that no one else can copy it or should I just take the .com?

Thank You

.com are the best options for you to go for, if you want to take .net .info and all the others feel free its upto you.

Ask yourself this :- What do i want to do with the domain name? - You will be able ot work out your answer from there
