Backlinks?
Now that the website is up, I want to learn how to do this "backlink" that everyone talks about...

I'm sure with all the adsense guys on here someone has a good esplanation of backlinks

Backlinks have absolutely nothing to do with AdSense. Backlinks are a form of Search Engine Optimization (search engine optimization). Visit http://www.seo-news.com for more info.

grab a script that does this for you, have at look at my directory, its fairly new

what this does is you add my link to your website, then you add yours - the script checks for the link on your site and then you verify your site via email, once verified its added to my directory and then I have your link on my site - this is call reciprocal linking we are exchanging links, or also simple terms link exchanges

to see how many sites link to you, go to google type in link: http://YOURWEBSITE and see who links to you with www. and without it does matter for PR

Be sure to gradually add links to your website over time. If you build 200 links a month, then keep it consistant with that number. This will appear to be natural link pointing to your website. Your pagerank and traffic will increase. Not over night but over time. This will also help to increase the value of your website too. Link building is a little time comsuming but it is necessary to promote your website.

It will not hurt you to build alot of links in a short period of time. Many sites get listed on thousands of news sites overnight and they aren't penalized. As long as they are one-way links they it will never hurt you.
