Today marks the exciting launch of a brand new community, the Australian Webmaster forums. The site is the first of it's kind, a webmaster discussion forum specifically targetting site owners and developers based in Australia.

The main topics will cover details relevant to managing a site in Australia, such as ABN's, Australian affiliate programs and much more. While the site is naturally geared towards an Australian audience, any members around the globe are welcomed to join in if they wish to do so.

The community is still very new and is still very much open for constructive criticism. We have a 'Feedback' forum specifically for your ideas and suggestions for the site but we are also open to hearing your comments here. We have already added the 'Quick Reply' to phpBB due to popular demand and should have some more stuff added regularly. You can also expect a few competitions and articles/tutorials to appear in the near future.

I appreciate your time in reading this and hope that you will consider joining our community. While it is still relatively bare, it has already received a lot of praise amongst some Australian webmasters, and we hope that many other Australian webmasters out there will stand up and join up too.

I'm just curious, why didn't you use phpfox instead of phpbb?

Well i'm not really going for a MySpace style site, i'm going for a forum type site, similar to YE I guess but with a different topical focus.

Just another quick announcement to let everyone know that we have now updated the forum to vBulletin and given it a brand new skin. We will start a new thread so no confusion occurs with the design comments.

RSS feeds have now been added to each forum so you can syndicate the latest posts to your homepage or desktop.

We are growing nicely at the moment, approaching the 20th member which isn't so bad for a niche forum.
