As part of a project to learn PHP I created a site that combines the blog/forum with the phone answering machine.

It's currently in a Beta state so I can learn to manage the back end in an efficient way. I get a few hits from the usual adolecsent males with nothing to say. I think I need an idea that will make use of the site in a more local setting (local calls).

Any ideas?

A service where rapper wannabe's can leave their rhymes and be heard by others. They could even battle each other... haha

Hmm... I'll have a think later and come up with something better than that.

Perhaps this could be used as a communication tool for people that can't be easily contacted, eg. maybe people serving in the armed forces or young people backpacking around the world. You could charge a fee, and for that a person gets their own page on your website, where anyone can contact them. Then the people could log on and check their messages anywhere they can access the internet. In this scenario the messages would be private and only the owner of the page could hear them.

perhaps you should be thinking along the lines of WAP? people could read blogs on their phones and reply via voice.
