Any Good Free, or Inexpensive Forums?

Are there any good free, or inexpensive forum or message board makers, like forumup, .etc?

Any suggestions?

I used Proboards and Forumup, but I wasn't very satisfied...

Does anyone recommend www.wowbb.com or www.vbulletin.com I don't think that I would purcahse either though, because of the high cost.

Does anyone know of a good forum, that costs, probably, under $20.00, or something similar to that?

phpbb is a good one. I like vbulletin best because of all of the great features but it's not free and you may not need/want many of the features that I find attractive like forum currency and whatnot. Anyway, for free my vote is for phpbb!

invision board is by far the best board i've ever used. and i've used them all from their infantcy. Invision is the safest and most reliable build in a modular way thats actually easy to understand. phpbb has F'in tpl files that are just retarded

www.invisionpower.com

the site seems to be a paid forum but you have to dig a little in the site to get the free version (which is the same as the paid, except you dont get personal support, but there are a few forums where you can get great help.)

Oh, there's a free forum? Okay great!

You see...The forum isn't going to be used by the website viewers, but it's going to be used by the Ask Abby Staff...

Like for updates, suggestions, announcements.etc...So I don't really want to pay much for it, if even at all...

Would Invision be good for this purpose?

Can you give me the URL of the free forum page? I can't seem to find it...
