If you set up a website that provides a service for free; like myspace and facebook do... And you get 1,000,000 unique visitors a month. What is the best way to sell advertisement? Adsense, or sell space to a specific company. Maximizing your potential, how much money in ad revenue would you generate monthly if your bringing a million people to your site??

advertising to a specific company i think becuase, you will get more revenue of it as not all of the 1,000,000 unique viewers will click on the adsense but they will view the ad off a specific company with/without them clicking on it

You will most likely make more selling space to people directly because you get paid whether people click or not.

5 pageviews per unique
5,000,000 pageviews a month
$3 CPM with ad networks - assuming you get into all major networks and rotate your ads efficiently.
$15,000 a month

Privately selling ads on your site would get you a much higher CPM depending on your vistors.
