5 Simple Ways To Leverage Any Social Network For Your Online Business

Social networks are a gold mine for your online business. People want to know who you are before they ever buy your product or join your team. I've compiled five simple strategies to grow your online business by utilizing social networks.

1. Join several different social networks, and never limit yourself to just one. A few of the top social networks I recommend are MySpace, Yuwie, Facebook and Black Planet. Don't limit yourself to the four named above. Search for more social networks that you feel will help you build your business as well.

2. Make your profile page visually attractive. Have pictures of you and your products posted. Also have links on your profile page that direct people to your website. Do not over advertise your business opportunity or your product because it will turn potential business partners and customers off.

3. You should add friends regularly. Friend adding is crucial because if you have no friends then your profile page will have no traffic. Adding friends will take some time, but if you use "friend adder" software the process will be much faster. The more friends you have, the more traffic you will get to your profile page and business website. A few of the social networks have limits on the number of friend request you can send to people on a daily basis. Be careful because your profile can and will be deleted.

4. Post to your blog on a regular basis. Blogging is very important because it allows your friends and even people that come across your profile to learn more about you. You should include information regarding you and your business within your blogs. Always end your blogs with a signature that contains your name, your website url, and your e-mail address. After reading a good blog, people will almost always click on the link to your website.

5. You should remain interactive. Visit your friends' profiles and add comments to their walls, pictures, and blogs regularly. Post bulletins regularly about your business and products as well. You should also join groups and make posts that are relevant to each particular group. Always include your name and a link to your website at the end of each bulletin, comment and post.

Just by using the five simple strategies above, you can build your online business utilizing any social network over time. Consistency is the key for business growth via social networking.

Apart from the top social networking sites that you have mentioned, a business owner can also tap into some smaller social networking sites that are highly targeted. Just do some Googling to dig them out. Some of the examples are Tipd (for financial, business and investment), Sphinn (for Internet marketing) and Show Hype (for celebrity news).

One can get a prospects that are better targeted if they choose to promote themselves or their business on these platforms than larger and general ones.
