What's the real story on copywriting?

I've been learning a lot about how to write copy lately. From what I hear, there is quite a demand for good copywriters out there and if you're good, you can earn several thousand $ per letter you write. I'm already decent at copywriting, but I'm thinking about purchasing a course or two and taking it more seriously.

Have any of you ever tried to make some extra cash by copywriting for companies? What was your experience with it? Pros and cons?

I've read all the sales letters for the courses that say that being a good copywriter is like having a money tree...but I want opinions and experiences from real people.

Looking forward to your responses,

Jesse Lear

I run www.marketerebooks.com and copywriting services for salespages and books goes from anywheres to $500-$2,000+ sometimes you can make $5,000+ if you are really needed for a certain copywriting service.

What you need is a portfolio that is how you sell yourself. Write up like 5 sample copywriting works and then try to bank on some sales
