summer biz job ideas

hey

me and a few friends have decided to maek some good money this holiday.
we decided on doing things such as:

car washing
window cleaning
lawn mowing
gardening
sweet sales

just wandering if anyone has any other ideas?

I was thinking of firstly making a flyer, and delivering it to a few hundred houses, with an email and telephone and list of services offered, with rough prices.

then if we dont get many replies, go out all kitted up, up to peoples houses and ask if they would need any of our services.

any improvements?

cheers

This is what I think.

Go to Vistaprint.com and get business cards, and go around and hand them out, with the services provided, and get leads this way.

I would have it done professionally, it is still cheap. Cards that are made on the Avery Card stock suck. The flyers aren't going to get you the return you want. Going door to door will always work. Human interaction. Let me know you are struggling and you can do anything to satisfy them. Anything. Let me know how it goes.

okay so im thinking get them done professionally, and when we go to hand them out, instead of just posting them through, we knock on the door, ask and talk to them about everything, and then if they are interested hand them a flyer/business card, to make a decision and get back to us.

anyone got any other ideas apart from
car washing
window cleaning
lawn mowing
gardening
sweet sales
?
thanks

I'm not in the states but these sorts of jobs are quite tacky if you are not a profesional at them. Can't you think of anything else to do? Try and land a good temp job in a big firm or something?

im in the uk, and im planning on doing it with a few friends, and charge proper amounts and do decent work.

the whole point of doing this instead of a temp job is that we can work the hours we choose, its more social as we can talk, and like have a good time during our holidays, and also earn some money. working the hours we choose.

If anyone on this forum tried this in California you would have no Business. The Mexicans dominate this sector of the market. They are a damn monopoly. I'm not racist, Just pointing out the obvious.

FWI: I'm Mexican

Going through the same process

I am currently going through the same process with my own home car wash biz and I have decided to go door to door and do a quick market survey for my business. So then people know who I am, know my service, and will have a good first impression of me and my business.
