Starting a web based business, need help!

    Hi,

I am currently in the process of creating a video sharing/social networking site. The site should be up and running in a month. I would like to have all content of the site free, and make money off of advertising. Would like the advertising to be similiar to Youtube, with banners, on video ads, and charge for featured videos, etc. What would be the best way to make this a reality. Business-wise, what type of structure should i have(DBA, Sole, LLC, etc.), do i need licenses, attorneys. Please help!! I'm appreciative of any information you can share.... Thank you, DJ

You may want to speak with an attorney. Our office can assist you with a 1/2 hr free consult. Give me a call at the number in my signature and I can schedule you to speak with an attorney before your site goes live.

With video sites there is a high chance that people might upload music, copyrighted videos and etc.

You might want to make sure you're covered for that as it will be you that will get sued for it instead rather than just those that uploaded it.

I suggest you look through all the legal loopholes in your business, list them down and then take advantage of the above 1/2 hours free legal consultation (seems a bit much? Wonder what the catch is).

There are companies who can register your company for... deal with most the paper work and all the hassle for you for less than $100.

Look around and you'll find some good deals.

Starting a company is a easier than you think... it's creating a business that's a bit harder.

There is no catch to the 1/2 hr consultation. That is something we offer in general. During this consult you will not get legal advice, but the attorney will tell you what you should have to protect yourself on your website, your options and what legal liabililtes you may be open to.
I am not spamming you. As you can see I post on here quite often and offer information when I can. This is something I personally cannot aide you in and therefore thought you might like to know that we do offer this 1/2 hour.
Considering it's free, I hope you do take advantage of it. There are no strings attached.

    Good luck.

    That's all you'll need.

Might as well go for it then.

btw Lisa, I wasn't accusing you of spamming or anything... just wanted to know a bit more about the free 1/2 hours offer.
