Question Newbie Needs Advice - Go Easy!!

Hey y'all - I work for an online real estate company and am home ALL DAY LONG. It's getting old and I need to find my own side projects to work on that can make me some extra cash.

I'm low on website experience other than doing searches, using ebay, etc. So...where's a good place for a newbie to start? Template website, drop shipper...are there people that help with adsense and that kind of stuff? I'm looking to invest no more than $300 up front and hope to profit about $100 a month initially. Any suggestions?

Thank you!!!

Start reading!!! Read the posts here, startupnation.com, warriorforum.com, and then ask questions.

There is no need to spend more then $100 on your first website.

TheEbookWriters.com cost me $23 for a year. I have been doing this for alittle while so I don't have to pay any middlemen...thats the reason why you need to do alot of reading.

With Joomla you can set up a website and manage it without ever knowing how to code.

In regards to what you should choose as your first project...First you need to assess what your skills are, where do your passions lie? If you are doing a project that you have a pssion for then you will naturally learn more and more and work harder at it. Thats where my NewAnxietyCure.com came from

To make any money on the web you will need to learn how to attract customers. Practice this on myspace maybe go over to cafepress and make a few t-shirts, then start letting myspacers know about them and see what they think. This will be good practice into surveying an audience and marketing a product.

If you are a competitent writer there are many freelance writing oppurtunities.

Well my suggestion is that you start with an information business...and since you are savvy with real estate (i suppose) you may find it very lucrative to sell your specialized knowledge...

The reason i say info business is b/c the investment is very low and the markup and returns are very high, something i think you should look into...

hope that helps

Hi! Our backgrounds sound similar. I'm also a Realtor and now a brand new stay-at-home mom. Nearly 3 months ago, I joined a company called YTB (Your Travel Biz). I love it. It is all about travel. You are provided your own website and people can book travel on your site and you receive the commissions. The biggest money is paid for vacation packages, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, etc. You can do this business passively (capitalizing on the travels that people will do anyway by encouraging them to book their car rentals, hotels, etc. on your site -- or -- you can work with vendors to set up travel packages, group cruises, etc. and promote them. Of course, the latter is more lucrative. Plus, you get all kinds of industry perks and benefits and you can travel at wholesale versus retail prices. As an added bonus, if anybody comes into the business through you, you not only make something similar to a referral fee, but you can also be paid matching commissions, etc. It is one of the best business opportunities that I've ever seen. Honestly, I love it and would encourage anyone to just check it out. Also check out this awesome review of the business: http://mlmbuzzbestawarded.com/
