Heres some basic info:
You put the html in the location of the page you want it to show. It depends on how you built your website: frontpage, dreamweaver, joomla, drupal, and other CMS's.

Channels are stupid ways of organizing different ads and keywords. To best understand them I would advise you to create test ads and channels then you can see how they work. Make 3 test ads and 2 channels.

Make sure you read a guide to the TOS so you dont loose cash. But basically you limited to 3 ads on the page at once, and at least one outbound link with quality content. Some simple numbers you might want to know:
1000 page views could equal like .10 to 5$ dollars depending on content shown and click through rates. The more clicks, the more money. The more unique and pricey content is covered, the more money.
CPM varies a great deal and theres much that goes into it for making nice money. Dont fall for scams tho.

I hope you got more than a few thousand pageviews a month.
