Investors question

I'm posting this for a friend. He produces short films and has received numerous awards for his previous indie films. He has done EVERYTHING out of pocket as of now but is not looking for an investor. His style of movies are raw and graphic and has a lot to do with helping society be more aware of children sexual abuse, abuse, alcohol and drug abuse, prostitution etc.

Can you give us some ideas of where we can take this film and look for investors? He has had two investors for this project so far with references (if that helps).

Thanks!

good question

- film financing attracts tax incentives. this means that your local film commission (the government body subsidizing film finance) has a mailing list that it send to people who want to lower their tax. you can find leads on the mailing list of the film commission...alternatively (if I'm not wrong)...the CRA would have a list of all people who are registered for film financing tax credits and the BCFC would be able to help you access this list

- 90% of film financing is closed at film festivals, where there are special pitch sessions scheduled for such a purpose.
